Week 2 of Term 3 - notices and reminders

Hi team.......we hope you had a great weekend.  It was a little on the cold side!  Here are the notices and reminders for this week in the Senior HQ:

1) Learning conferences with your home room teacher are this Tuesday and Wednesday after school, along with these same two days next week too.  Your parents need to book a slot online.  Remember to arrive early to show your parents around the HQ and any work you would like to share prior to your slot with your teacher.  We look forward to seeing you for your conference!

2) The North West Winter Tournament is this Wednesday in at Hagley Park.  Remember to bring to school your sports uniform, sports gear, a big lunch and bottle of water for this event if you are involved.  We depart after morning tea.

3) Thursday is the student council mufti day to raise money for the purchase of new house flags.  Support this initiative by wearing your house colours on the day (how extreme can you be?) and bring along a gold coin please.

4) Winter sport as usual on Friday afternoon - bring all gear and sports clothes.

5) Mrs Moore will be doing her ski trip clothing lesson this week - this will remind you of the clothing you need to have ready for our Senior HQ ski trip on Wednesday the 17th of August.  Remember to hunt at home, borrow or purchase what you need so you can enjoy the day in the alpine environment by being warm and comfortable.  ALL SKI TRIP ABILITY FORMS SHOULD BE BACK THIS WEEK AT THE LATEST.  Ask a teacher if you need another or look in the 'notices' drawer by the photocopier as spares are in there!

6)  ICAS English test is on this Tuesday.

Have a great week everyone!

Week 9 Happenings!

It is already the second to last week of the term!  Where has this term gone to?!  Lots of the snow had disappeared from Mount Hutt over the week but they got some more over the weekend which is great - here's hoping they continue to get a lot more ready for our ski trip on the 17th of August!  Things to remember for this week:

* Return you ski trip permission form and arrange payment.  Thanks to those of you who already have!
* Talent Quest grand final is this Thursday.  If you are competing keep practicing as much as you can and all the best for your performance.  Parents & family members are welcome to join us from 1.30pm - 3pm in the school hall for this exciting event!
* Cantamath is launched this week - you'll need to think about which entries you will make following Mrs B's cantamath workshop on Monday morning during our morning hui.
* All Kapa Haka members need to return their marae visit form to Mrs Lewis or the office staff ASAP.  Spare notices can be picked up from Mrs Lewis.  Your visit is Tuesday on the final week of the term.
*  Wednesday is the "How Stuff Works" inquiry group trip to the Wastewater Treatment Plant from 11.30-3pm.  Students in this group should have returned both their permission form AND their $9 to attend.  Spare forms can be found in the notices drawer by the photocopier.

Have a super week everyone!
